The Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp expressed his reasonable doubts as to the real benefits of the rule of financial fair play, commenting on the upcoming record transfer of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain. In addition, the German added that under no circumstances he is going to sell Philippe Coutinho who is wanted by Barcelona.
'There are only two clubs who can pay similar amounts: Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. I thought the rule of financial fair play is designed to prevent just such situations, but perhaps that is only a suggestion and not a real rule. I can't figure out how that is happening. I hope that this transfer is not going to be the next step in football, and it would be rather an exception.'
