5.06.2025 Franco Kolapinto: My first accidents happened almost in F-1

Kolapinto summed up the results of the performances in the F-1 and commented on the accident. The former pilot of Williams Franco Kolapinto said that he positively evaluates his races in the second half of 2024, despite a number of serious incidents.

I never got into an accident. The former happened almost in the F-1. But this is part of the training. This year I went through some difficult moments. I tried to squeeze the maximum from the car. Of course, I look back at these moments and see where I could speak better, and I also see episodes when I proved myself very cool - I squeezed out the maximum out of the opportunity, not knowing the car.
In Brazil, it was very difficult, it was raining heavy. Cars become actually uncontrollable to everyone. And someone will definitely break. I consider this as my first experience on a wet highway, the first experience with intermediate tires-everything was in a new way. So in a sense, this is understandable. But I am a little more offensive because of the accident in Las Vegas.
I controlled the situation and really tried to push the borders into qualifications. I sought to go with Williams in the third segment. Maybe we were not enough speed, but I really tuned in-it was probably too much.
I already spoke great, it was not necessary to take this risk. I guess I did not rate the risks incorrectly. But this is my nature - I try to squeeze the maximum at every moment when I am in the car.
This is training, this is experience, and I am very pleased with what I did for these nine races. In general, the picture is very good, if you look. And yes, my dream came true, ”Franco said.
