18.02.2018 Newcastle missed the victory against Burnley

Newcastle failed to beat Burnley in the match between the two teams in the Premier League`s 25th round. The St. James Park match ended with a score of 1:1, but the hosts may very much regret not taking the three points. They made a bunch of omissions, including a penalty kick missed by Josepe in the 34th minute. Jamal Lassels still opened the score for the Swords in the 65th minute but in the 85th minute the guests reached the draw with Sam Vouks. Newcastle was the more active of both teams. In the 18th minute the hosts missed their first great opportunity. Kennedy unleashed two defenders and a good shot that he lost from the bar.

In the 34th minute, Phil Bardsley committed a penalty against Kennedy in the penalty and the referee gave a penalty to the hosts. However, Josepo misses the white point, his shot being reflected by goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Finally, the game ended without a winner and Newcastle took 14th place in the 24-point ranking. Burnley scored the 8th consecutive game without winning, but at least stopped his series of 3 consecutive losses and with 35 points took the seventh place.
